GRAND BAHAMA CHILDREN’S HOME RECEIVES SPECIAL VISITOR

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama (BIS) – During a three-day official visit to Grand Bahama, Her Excellency Dai Qingli, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, on Saturday, July 30, had a tour of the Grand Bahama Children’s Home.

The Ambassador was met by Kevin Seymour, Chairman and President-Elect of the Board of Directors of the Children’s Home, along with Ms. June Hutcheson, Executive Director of the Home, who conducted the tour and explained how many children reside there, the repairs following Hurricane Dorian in September 2019, as well as the funding of the Home.  Her Excellency took a few moments to interact with some of the children before presenting a few Panda Bear toys, the Panda being the mascot of China.

Her Excellency arrived in Grand Bahama on Thursday, and among her activities had a courtesy call on the Minister for Grand Bahama the Hon. Ginger Moxey, a tour of the Freeport Container Port, a private dinner hosted by Minister Moxey, and a tour of award-winning Coral Vita Coral Farm.  Ambassador Qingli departed Grand Bahama on Saturday afternoon to return to Nassau.
