PARIS, France — His Excellency Ellison E. Greenslade, QPM, Bahamas High Commissioner of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, presented his Letters of Credence as the Non-Resident Ambassador-designate of The Bahamas to the Republic of France to His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, at the Elysée Palace in Paris on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
Announcing this on its Facebook page, the Bahamas Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that during the presentation ceremony, Ambassador Greenslade “thanked President Emmanuel Macron for the support provided to The Bahamas in the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian and for the provision of water filtration systems by the French.”
“He also expressed thanks to France for its support of The Bahamas’ re-election to the Council of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) during recent elections held in London, UK,” the Foreign Affairs Ministry revealed, adding that discussions also centred on the strengthening of relations between the two countries with the French president pledging to continue to stand with and support The Bahamas.”
In a post on the High Commission’s website, High Commissioner Greenslade noted: “Honoured to present Credentials to President Emmanuel Macron of the Republic of France accrediting me as the Bahamas’ Non-Resident Ambassador to France. Grateful to the Govt & people of France for the outpouring of support in the aftermath Hurricane Dorian.”
In addition to a photo of him presenting his credentials, the post on the High Commission’s website also included a photo of him and his wife, Mrs. Kimberley Morley Greenslade.
