HEALTHY DIALOGUES AND CONVERSATIONS MATTER

A noted Bahamian attorney, Allyson Maynard-Gibson served twice as Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

NASSAU, Bahamas, June 7, 2020 — Allyson Maynard-Gibson posted this video on her Facebook page that I thought I would share with readers of BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, my online publication that was launched three years ago after my diplomatic tenure as Press, Cultural Affairs and Information Manager for four-plus years at the Embassy of The Bahamas ended  following the change of government in The Bahamas in May of 2017.

BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which was started primarily to keep Bahamians and nationals from other Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries living in the diaspora up-to-date on news from their respective countries, has developed a huge following across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as the wider Caribbean. We have very affordable promotional and advertising rates, for which more information can be obtained by contacting the following email address: oswaldb317@gmail.com.

Mrs. Maynard-Gibson posted the video below with the following introductory information: “Healthy dialogues and conversations matter. Please listen to my conversation with Jennlyn, an international journalist with a passion for asking good questions. In this exchange, I share my reflections on what Bahamian excellence looks like as we navigate Covid-19, I delve into my passion for people-centered justice and even share views about the pandemic of racial injustice. I thought that the dialogue was meaningful and I even reveal my biggest takeaway from this pandemic, leaning on sage advice from my grandmother. Please watch, listen and let me know your feedback.”

EDITOR’S NOTE: Allyson Maynard-Gibson served twice as Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. Ms. Maynard-Gibson also served in the Bahamian Parliament, was the country’s First Minister of Financial Services and Investments, and is Past President of the International Women’s Forum and the Leadership Foundation. She recently completed Harvard University’s Advanced Leadership Initiative, a one-year Fellowship that Harvard describes on its website as “a third stage in higher education designed to prepare experienced leaders to take on new challenges in the social sector where they have the potential to make an even greater societal impact than they did in their careers.”
