NASSAU, Bahamas — Minister of Foreign Affairs Darren Henfield yesterday confirmed that Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rhoda M. Jackson has been reassigned to the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture.
Jack Thompson, the permanent secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, was expected to take that post, but has been transferred instead to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Henfield said Jackson’s transfer is unconnected to a matter she was involved in recently concerning Haitian Embassy officials.
In response to an article that appeared in The Tribune last week quoting Haitian Embassy First Assistant Secretary Karl Henri Chatelier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy Francois Michel to its headquarters.
Chatelier was quoted as saying the residents of the shantytowns are willing to rebuild the shantytowns on their own and will respect all requirements. https://thenassauguardian.com/2018/08/02/henfield-confirms-ps-in-foreign-affairs-reassigned/
