LONDON, England — His Excellency Ellison Greenslade, QPM, Bahamas High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, is pictured with the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby at the Service of Commitment held in St. Anselm chapel of historic Lambeth Place on Friday, September 28, 2018.
The service is “a tradition of worship that has been offered by Archbishops of Canterbury and their households on this site since the 12th Century,” according to the programme.
“The Community of St. Anselm is an Acknowledged Religious Community, which was established by the Archbishop of Canterbury to draw together young Christians aged 20-35, from all over the world and all many different denominations and varieties of Christian expression, for one transformative year of prayer, theological reflection and service to the poor, in the heart of London,” the programme noted.
This year Bahamian seminarian Ruel Strachan was among the 19 members – from “many church traditions” and from all over the world, including the UK, United States, France, Canada, Bahamas, Pakistan, Zimbabwe, Australia, Germany, South Sudan, Uganda and Zambia—who took their vows.
