WASHINGTON, D.C., October 24, 2023 — Her Excellency Leslia Miller-Brice, MP for Seabreeze and Bahamas Ambassador for CARICOM, posted a collection of photos on Facebook taken during the opening ceremony of Diplomatic Week on Monday, October 23. I decided to share some of them with readers of my online publication BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.
Many other photos taken during the opening of Diplomatic Week were posted on Facebook by various individuals, but my incentive for showcasing this particular group of photos Is the fact that our Ambassador here in Washington, D.C., His Excellency Wendall Jones, is featured in several of them.
Aside from the fact that one of my responsibilities as Press Consultant to the Embassy of The Bahamas here in D.C. is to report on activities in which Ambassador Jones participates, I am immensely proud of the excellent job he is doing as The Bahamas’ top diplomat in the United States based in its capital, Washington, D.C., where virtually every country in the world has diplomatic envoys.
Ambassador Brice posted her collection of photos with the following narrative:
The opening ceremony of Diplomatic Week, held Monday, October 23rd, under the theme “Celebrating 50 Years of Foreign Relations and Beyond in an Independent Bahamas”, brought diplomats together from all over the world.
Prime Minister Davis stated, “This year’s event is a particularly momentous one as 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of our country’s independence and our United Nations membership as well as the 50th anniversary of the founding of CARICOM”
