NASSAU, Bahamas, July 6, 2023 – An excellent collection of photos taken by Bahamas Information Services (BIS) photographer Kemuel Stubbs were posted on Facebook featuring highlights of the opening ceremony of The Bahamas Museum of Junkanoo at the Nassau Cruise Port. We decided to share some of them with readers of BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.

Cruise passengers visiting The Bahamas are now able to experience the reimagined Nassau Cruise Port, which has opened after three years of construction. Featuring a sixth berth and new terminal building, in addition to the Junkanoo Museum the revitalized port is now home to event and entertainment spaces, a 3,500-seat amphitheatre, a living coral exhibit, local stores and new food and beverage facilities.

With support from Junkanoo experts Arlene Nash Ferguson and Percy “Vola” Francis, the Nassau Cruise Port Junkanoo Museum provides an impressive experience while sharing the story of The Bahamas’ world-renowned national cultural festival.
