FREEPORT, Grand Bahama — Lamar Matthews, PYL Bahamas National Conclave Chairman, posted a collection of photos on Facebook and we decided to share some of them with readers of BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and, of course, The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean. The photos were posted with the following narrative:
“I’d like to give all glory and honor to God who allowed my team and I to see this past weekend come to fruition. This conclave was a success and I truly appreciate the hard work my team put into planning and executing this event. This truly exemplifies what teamwork is all about. It took us months of planning, with many late and sleepless nights, but by God’s grace and mercies, we were victorious.
A Special Thank You to all of our speakers for their informational and motivational speeches on our topic “Changing The Economic Course” #EconomicEmancipation. To our DJ, performers and protocol officers, thank you for providing your services and ensuring that our weekend was nothing short of amazing. I’d also like to express thanks to all who believed in us and supported us in person and virtually, as well as those who offered financial and spiritual support. I’m truly grateful for everything, especially those that advised us throughout our planning process. I trust that our Family Island delegates were motivated and empowered.
Of course, a special thanks to my PYL sisters and brothers who saw it fit to recognize my contributions and dedication to the Progressive Young Liberals over the past years. I was humbled and honored by your thoughts and prayers. I hope that everything that was said and done resonated with our young people and I look forward to 2024 being even better.
Signing out of Conclave 2023 and looking forward to 2024! With Much Love and Appreciation – Lamar Matthews PYL Bahamas National Conclave Chairman.
