IDB GROUP HOSTING MEETING OF IDB’S CARIBBEAN GOVERNORS

WASHINGTON, D.C., February 11, 2019 — The IDB Group is currently hosting the 8th Annual Caribbean Governors’ Meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) February 11 and 12, at its Headquarters, Washington D.C.

The IDB’s Caribbean Governors are the finance and planning ministers of the institution’s English-speaking Caribbean member states.

Under the theme “Exponential for Resilience,” the Caribbean Governors’ Meeting “will explore  how the region can embrace development solutions that push the boundaries of what is considered possible.,” according to information on the IDB website.

“Specifically, participants will focus on how the region could tap into disruptive technologies and apply innovative methods to enhance revenue administration and the skills required to create the Caribbean workforce of the future,” the website states.

“IDB Governors are expected from The Bahamas, Barbados, Jamaica, Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago,” the website noted. “Also in attendance will be IDB President Luis Alberto Moreno, other senior IDB Group officials, and the Vice President for Operations, Caribbean Development Bank. Other high-level participants are expected to participate.”

Among those participating in the meeting is Financial Secretary Marlon Johnson, representing The Bahamas as an Alternate Governor.
