WASHINGTON, D.C., August 22, 2019 — Having completed a successful several-month-long European summer tour, Bahamian-American rock superstar Lenny Kravitz kicked off the North American leg of his 2019 “Raise Vibration Tour” in the United States Wednesday night, August 21, with a performance before a crowd of more than 25,000 at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia.
Among those in attendance were His Excellency Sidney Collie, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States and Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS), and his daughter Yendise.
Almost 20 dates have been announced for August until the middle of September. Concerts are scheduled in cities such as Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles, Nashville, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Detroit, Grand Prairie, Highland Park and more, including two stops up in Canada in Montreal and Toronto.
Kravitz’s many hit songs include Fly Away, Are You Gonna Go My Way, It Aint Over Till It’s Over, Again, American Woman, Always On The Run, Mr. Cab Driver.
Earlier this year, the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism launched a new promotional campaign featuring Kravitz’s “Bahamas — Fly Away” video that’s widely credited with being one of the major reasons for the ongoing upsurge in visitors choosing The Bahamas as their vacation destination.
Kravitz, who has a home and studio in Eleuthera, is the son of the late Bahamian-American actress Roxie Roker and NBC television news producer Sy Kravitz.
