WASHINGTON D.C. – Sensational Bahamian recording artist Lady E will perform at The Bahamas’ 46th Independence Anniversary Reception on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the InterContinental Hotel Washington, D.C. — The Wharf, 801 Wharf Street, S.W., Washington, D.C., the Bahamas Embassy Consular Annex announced on its Facebook Page.
Guests will be welcomed by His Excellency Sidney Collie, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States and Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS), and Mr. Theo Neilly, Bahamas Consul General to Washington, D.C.
“We can’t wait to ‘Feel that Rhythm’ with Lady E in D.C.,” the Consular Annex declared on its Facebook page.
Other events scheduled in D.C. for the 46th Independence celebrations include a Bahamian-American picnic at Cosca Regional Park, 11000 Clinton Road, Maryland, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 6; a church service at Our Father’s Holy Ministry Center, 2598 Business Park G 20106 in Waldorf, Maryland, on Sunday, July 7, beginning at 11:00 a.m.; and a premier showing of the movie CARGO by Bahamian Kareem Mortimer at Landmark’s E Street Cinema, 555 11th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday July 9.
Known as the Bahamian Road Fever Queen, Lady E was a member of the world-renowned Bahamas Youth Choir. She was the lead vocalist for popular bands such as Visage and Ting Um Dem before embarking on a solo career.
As a solo artist, she debuted with her Junkanoo Carnival hit “For You”, which was featured by Disney for the series Scrubs. She is also very well known for her hit “My Islands in the Sun,” featuring Ira Storr. Check out her video at https://youtu.be/FLPiRxv30hY
