NASSAU, Bahamas –Mr. David Mindorff, Principal of Lyford Cay International School (LCIS), has announced that LCIS will expand its Future Leaders of Tomorrow’s Scholarship Program to give 10 Bahamians an opportunity to become a part of the LCIS family.
This was revealed in a post on Facebook on Monday, January 30, by Mr. Ricardo P. Deveaux, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Bahamas Ministry of Education and Technical and Vocational Training, who was a guest of LCIS at its 60th Anniversary Founders’ Day Assembly on Friday, January 27.
He noted that he was inspired by many of the Former Nominees in the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Awards Program who now attend the school and is performing extremely well.
Mr. Deveaux, who is President/CEO at The Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation, noted that during the assembly “LCIS was proud to showcase their 2022/2023 LCIS Student of the Year Nominee Felipe Souza and Past Student of the Year Nominees who are currently enrolled in the school.”
Mr. Mindorff said he “was inspired by many of the Former Nominees in the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Awards Program who now attend the school and are performing extremely well,” according to Mr. Deveaux.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation the Hon. Chester Cooper, accompanied by his wife Mrs. Cecilia Cooper, brought remarks at the LCIS Founders Day Assembly. Also in attendance were the Hon. Zane Lightbourne, Minister of State in the Ministry of Education and Technical & Vocational Training; British High Commissioner HE Tom Hartley; and other government officials.
