WASHINGTON, D.C., May 5, 2021 —  Continuing her impressive campaign to become the next House of Assembly member for the Seabreeze constituency, Leslia Brice released the following on her Facebook page on Wednesday, May 5, along with a montage of eight teachers who participated in LB’s Learning Academy free after-school tutoring sessions for grades six, nine and twelfth grade students:

“As we celebrate Teachers Appreciation Week, I would like to thank these beautiful ladies for their unwavering support to LB’s Learning Academy. Your love and commitment to teaching has affected so many students during this program. I would like to send a heartfelt Thank you for your time and support you have so graciously leant us.

“I celebrate you today as my Women Crushes, keep striving towards shaping the future generation and working on the advancement and development of our nation. In my opinion, Teachers should be celebrated EVERYDAY!

“Happy Teachers Appreciation to ALL Teachers. You all are truly AMAZING!”

The teachers included in the montage are: Petetra Higgs, English Language & Literature; D’Metria Smith, English Literature; Hallinka Bain, BGCSE English Language & Literature; Allyce Pratt, BJC & BGCSE Mathematics; Denise Hanna, GLAT/High School Prep; Peteria Higgs, Religious Education & Social Studies; Kizzy McPhee, BJC Language; and  Natasha Williams, Health & General Science.

As I noted in a previous article praising Mrs. Brice’s educational initiative, it is obvious that the businesswoman  and former beauty queen inherited her dynamic campaign skills from her father Leslie Miller, who has been one of the most savvy politicians in The Bahamas for several decades.
