WASHINGTON, D.C., September 4 — I just got confirmation via a video on CNN that Lynn Armstrong, who was one of my proofreaders when I was Editor of the Freeport News, drowned when rising sea surges engulfed her home as category 5 Hurricane Dorian devasted Grand Bahama over more than two days. I was totally devastated as I watched her husband Howard tearfully describe the last moments of Lynn’s life as she climbed on top of furniture to escape the rising water. Howard, however, managed to swim to safety. Lyn was a wonderful, wonderful lady, who was originally from England. My deepest condolence to Howard and her family in England.
