MAJOR MILESTONE ACHIEVED WITH SIGNING OF AGREEMENT FOR RENOVATI0N OF THE BAHAMAS EMBASSY IN D.C

WASHINGTON, D.C., Oct. 6, 2022 — A major milestone for The Bahamas Embassy in Washington D.C. was achieved on Thursday, October 6, 2022 with the signing of  an agreement for the renovation of The Bahamas Chancery Building at 2220 Massachusetts Avenue, N.W.

Officials of the Ministry of Works and Utilities and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs travelled to the U.S capital to execute a contract with Anderson Cooper Group (ACG) to provide services comprising of the conceptual design, as well as structural, mechanical and electrical approaches to be incorporated into the design of the Embassy building.

Since October of last year, the Embassy was temporarily relocated to the Watergate Complex on New Hampshire Avenue to facilitate the refurbishment of the chancery.

Signing the agreement on behalf of the government of The Bahamas was Mr. Luther Smith, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Works, while Mr. Addison Nottingham signed for ACG.
