Happy Majority Rule Day!
Today marks the historic event for Bahamians that took place on January 10th, 1967 when, for the first time, the promise of equality and the opportunity for constitutional, political, social, cultural, and economic rights became available for all.
Majority Rule Day played a significant role in forging the freedom and democracy we currently experience in The Bahamas and marks a defining moment in our evolution as a people.
As we celebrate our evolution since Majority Rule, we must be cognisant of the struggles of economic empowerment and equal opportunity that Bahamians continue to face.
And as we look to the future of 2023, it is our vision that we continue the fight of the freedom fighters. This administration remains committed to rebuilding a Bahamas that is more suitable for the advancement and empowerment of Bahamians, while also rescuing the most economically vulnerable in our society.
