MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS WELCOMES NEW PERMANENT SECRETARY

Mr. Eugene Poitier, newly appointed Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, being congratulated by  outgoing acting Permanent Secretary Donella Bodie.

NASSAU, Bahamas – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the appointment of Mr. Eugene Poitier as its new Secretary.

In a press release on Sunday, June 12, 2022, the Ministry noted that Mr. Poitier will formally begin his duties at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, June 13.

“Prior to this most recent position, Mr. Poitier worked as the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Culture, the Ministry of National Security, and as the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology,” the press statement said.

In his message on Sunday, The Hon. Fred Mitchell, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Public Service, commended outgoing acting Permanent Secretary Donella Bodie for her “diligence and devotion to duty”, wishing her well as she moves on to a new assignment within the public service.
