MINNIS COMMITS TO RESOLVING NURSES’ ISSUE
NASSAU, Bahamas — With ongoing tension between the Ministry of Health and the Bahamas Nurses Union (BNU), Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis said on Saturday the government will look at the total amount owed to nurses and meet with the union after three weeks to find a solution.
The prime minister met with BNU President Amancha Williams on Friday.
“I have asked the nurses [if] they can commence relevant communication with the relevant ministry authority and we would look at the total that is owed to them and we will meet again in three weeks, where we will come to an amicable resolution so that we can agree how we approach a solution moving forward,” Minnis said.
Williams has continuously warned the government to pay them all the money owed or face a strike. https://thenassauguardian.com/2018/08/13/minnis-commits-to-resolving-nurses-issues/
