NASSAU, Bahamas — Founding member of the Free National Movement (FNM) Maurice Moore said yesterday the Minnis administration’s last ditch effort to purchase the Grand Lucayan resort in Freeport is the right move because the government must protect Grand Bahama residents.
“I think the government should hang in there, keep the destination alive while they look around for a new investor,” said Moore when called for comment. “I would certainly do all I can to help to find one as well. It would be a mistake to just close it down. I support what they are doing, as a last resort.”
Moore said the government has to ensure that the Port Lucaya strip remains open and that it keeps Grand Bahamians employed. https://thenassauguardian.com/2018/08/17/moore-backs-govt-in-plan-to-purchase-grand-lucayan/
