FREEPORT, Grand Bahama — At a cost of nearly $2 million and an estimated construction phase time frame of nine months, residents of Grand Bahama can look forward to a new, improved justice centre, the Freeport News reported November 27
Yesterday – Monday, November 26 – was the official contract signing for the refurbishment of the Garnet Levarity Justice Centre between the Government of The Bahamas and local construction company Noula Investments Limited, headed by contractor Maxwell H. Quant.
Held on the grand lawn of the National Insurance Building Complex, various governmental officials, members of the Judiciary and residents assembled to witness the signing of the long awaited contractual agreement.
Senator J. Kwasi Thompson, Minister of State for Grand Bahama in the Office of the Prime Minister; Iram Lewis, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Public Works; Pakesia Parker-Edgecombe, Parliamentary Secretary of Information and Communication, Office of the Prime Minister; Frederick McAlpine, Member of Parliament for Pineridge, H.E.s Corneilus A. Smith and Maurice Moore were all in attendance.
