NASSAU, Bahamas — Attorney Myles Laroda, the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) candidate for the Pinewood Gardens constituency in New Providence, officially opened his constituency campaign office on Saturday, July 10, 2021.
In addition to the candidate, PLP Leader Philip “Brave” Davis also addressed the scores of PLP supporters and party officials who attended the opening.
LaRoda, who is among a cadre of excellent young PLP candidates with progressive ideas, grew up and spent majority of his early childhood in Crooked Island with his paternal grandparents.
“Growing up with humble beginnings, he was surrounded by parents and grandparents who were all dedicated public servants,” the PLP notes on its website. “This modest upbringing assisted in molding Myles LaRoda into the dedicated and compassionate character that he is today.”
The website notes that Mr. Laroda “began his professional career in the Tourism industry as a cook and eventually ended transferring to Atlantis Casino where he became a supervisor.”
“His decades in the Tourism industry guided his underlying passion of becoming an attorney at law,” the website states, adding: “He is currently Senior Partner at LaRoda, Francis & Co.”
