NAOMI TAYLOR, “THE JUNGLE QUEEN,” WAS A FEATURED EXOTIC DANCER AT THE SILVER SLIPPER NIGHT CLUB

Naomi Taylor used to live in one  of the three houses on our family homestead through Paul Meeres Corner (Fleming Street) when I was a young and I remember her very well.”

NASSAU, Bahamas, July 25, 2022 — Naomi Taylor “The Jungle Queen” an Exotic Bahamian Dancer from the 50’s & 60’s was featured as a regular at the famous Silver Slipper Club over the hill Grant’s Town and East Street Nassau Bahamas, dancing to the musical sounds of the Freddie Munnings Sr. OBE Orchestra. The Jungle Queen also was one of the first females to rush in our cultural Junkanoo Parades on Bay Street.

Also seen dancing in this clip with the Jungle Queen is Lucille “Mamma Lu” Adderley another Exotic Bahamian Dancer at the time who  went on to the Cat & Fiddle Club and joined George Burrows as her dancing partner. For Historic purposes only.
