A new resort and marina is planned for Blue Water Cay, a bit southeast of Nassau, designed to be a gateway to cruising, fishing and enjoying life in the Bahamas. CRUISING ODYSSEY reported on April 1, 2023
Construction is scheduled to start soon on the Legendary Marina Resort at Blue Water Cay on a 20-acre peninsula. The new marina will include state-of-the-art docks for boats up to 200 feet and hurricane-rated dry storage for 750 boats up to 55 feet with quick launch services.
The marina will have a high-speed fuel dock with gas and diesel, and on-site marine service and repair facilities. A concierge service can prepare your boat in advance with fuel, ice and provisions. Facilities will include a marine supply and general store.
If you want to stay on land overnight, the resort will have luxury accommodations. Outdoor dining and a tiki bar will overlook the marina.
If you want to fly in, the marina is just 25 minutes from Lynden Pindling International Airport, the fourth busiest in the Caribbean and the main airport for the Bahamas.
For the new Legendary marina, location is everything. It’s near white sand beaches and not far from world-class fishing. It’s convenient to Lyford Cay, Paradise Island, and Old Fort Bay. By boat, Andros is 32 nm away; Chub, 48 nm; Spanish Wells, 46 nm, and Staniel, 71 nm.
