NEWLY APPOINTED AMBASSADOR OF CANADA TO THE OAS PAYS COURTESY CALL ON AMBASSADOR COLLIE

WASHINGTON, D.C. — His Excellency Hugh Adsett, Permanent Representative of Canada to the Organization of American States (OAS), paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Sidney Collie, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States and Permanent Representative to the OAS, on Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Embassy of The Bahamas, 2220 Massachusetts Avenue, N.W.

Ambassador Collie welcomed Ambassador Adsett to Washington, D.C. and expressed appreciation to the government of Canada for its support after Hurricane Dorian. Matters related to the OAS and the United Nations Security Council elections were also discussed.

Ambassador Adsett  presented his credentials to OAS Secretary General Luis Almagro on Thursday, October 17, 2019. Canada has been an OAS member state since 1990, after being a Permanent Observer for 28 years.
