GUEST COMMENTARY: BY LESLIA MILLER-BRICE
(EDITOR’S NOTE: Her Excellency Leslia Miller-Brice, MP for Seabreeze and Minister for CARICOM, posted this comment on her Facebook page on Thursday, March 31, that I was compelled to share as a Guest Commentary with readers Of BAHAMAS CHRONICLE.)
NASSAU, Bahamas — I would like to express my deepest appreciation to every member of the Local Organizing Committee for showing relentless effort leading up to the Duke and Duchess visit to the Bahamas. The event would have not been a success without your diligence, hard work, late nights, and early mornings. It was truly a blessing to work with a team that’s so talented, self-reliant and motivated as you.
I felt a great sense of pride as I stood on the sidelines and watched our Bahamian citizens take center stage to showcase their talents, which lead to a heighten appreciation for our Bahamian culture. Everyone who participated, gave an outstanding performance and I am truly thankful and certainly proud to be Bahamian.
I would also like to send a Big THANK YOU to The Ministry of Education, The Royal Bahamas Police Force, The Royal Bahamas Defence Force, The Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas, The Ministry of Health, Bahamas Information Services, Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, The Ministry of Grand Bahama, The Office of The Prime Minister – Abaco, The Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Protocol Division, BahamasAir, The Cabinet Office, The Governor General Office, Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Resources and The Junkanoo Corporation New Providence.
Without the support that you all have provided, the Royal Visit may not have achieved the success it did. Thank you all for your amazing dedication and effort!
