NASSAU, Bahamas, March 30, 2020 – Assistant Commissioner of Police Paul Rolle was officially sworn in as the country’s eighth Bahamian Police Commissioner since the The Bahamas became an independent nation during an official handing over ceremony of the Office of Commissioner of Police of The Bahamas held in the Paul Farquharson Centre at Police Headquarters on Monday, March 30, 2020.
Prime Minister the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis told Commissioner Rolle that his “great task is to continue the work of reducing crime in our country.” Commissioner Rolle takes over from former Commissioner Anthony Ferguson.
Commissioner of Police Rolle has served on the force for 36 years. He spent five years as the officer-in-charge of the Central Detective Unit and in 2017 he was made head of the anti-corruption branch of the RBPF, leading investigations into high-profile corruption allegations.
