PFIZER PAEDIATRIC COVID-19 VACCINES DONATED BY FRANCE VIA COVAX FACILITY

Prime Minister Philip E. Davis and Minister of Health and Wellness  Dr. Michael Darville were on hand for the arrival of 24,000 Pfizer doses of paediatric COVID-19 vaccines.

NASSAU, Bahamas, July 25, 2022 — Prime Minister Hon. Philip E. Davis and Minister of Health and Wellness Hon. Dr. Michael Darville were on hand for the arrival of 24,000 Pfizer doses of paediatric COVID-19 vaccines via British Airways 253 from London on Saturday, July 23, 2022. The vaccines we donated by France via the COVAX Facility.

Prime Minister Davis was instrumental in ensuring that The Bahamas was among the first countries to receive the paediatric vaccines and remains grateful for the donation.

On Thursday, July 28, 2022, The Ministry of Health and Wellness Bahamas will commence the rollout of vaccines in New Providence at the Mall at Marathon and poly-clinics across the island. Family Islands will receive vaccines throughout the week for rollout on Thursday.

Children 5-11 years old are eligible for the vaccine, and parents and legal guardians can make appointments by visiting vax.gov.bs or contacting your child’s paediatrician.
