WASHINGTON, D.C., April 27, 2019 — Karen Ferguson-Bain, who lives in Freeport, Grand Bahama, posted a wonderful collage of photos on Friday, April 26, 2019 that I shared on my Facebook page, but it is logistically difficult to share such a large number of photos in my online publication, BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, so I have selected one of them to publish along with Mrs. Ferguson-Bain’s comments, which are self-explanatory.
Here’s what Mrs. Ferguson-Bain wrote: “It isn’t what you have in your pocket that makes you thankful. But what you have in your heart ❤️ Pilot Club of Lucaya said “Thank You” to 18 Corporate Companies on Grand Bahama Island for their support of our initiatives and programmes over the years. This gratitude of praise was the brainchild of our President Betty Smith, who wanted to show our club’s expressions of thankfulness to the following companies: Polymers International, Pharachem Technologies, Modalena LTD., Musgroove Burrows Law Chambers, Better to Serve You Cafe, Syngad Services, Grand Bahama Port Authority, Freeport Restaurant, Bishop Michael Bishop Michael Eldon, Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Academy, Royal Bank of Canada, Bahamas Stripping Company, R. E. A.C.H. Grand Bahama, BTC, Subway Sandwiches & Salads, St. Judes Medical Center, Freeport Oil Company LTD. and Pro Cathedral of Christ The King.”
Pilot Club of Lucaya is a member of Pilot International, which has a membership of more than 7,500 in more than 400 clubs the United States, Canada, Japan, South Africa, and The Bahamas. The Pilot Club of Lucaya was inducted in 2002, and when I was Editor of the Freeport News, one of its Past-Presidents, Mrs. Deborah Archer, became the first Pilot outside of the United States to serve as President of Pilot International (2008-2009). There is also a very active Pilot Club in Nassau.
I thought that followers of BAHAMAS CRONICLE would be interested in keeping up-to-date on the excellent “work” Pilot Clubs are doing in The Bahamas , which is also true of the various Rotary and Kiwanis service clubs in The Bahamas.
BAHAMAS CHRONICLE was launched in May of 2018 by THE BROWN AGENCY, my Public Relations and Marketing company, to keep Bahamians and nationals of other Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries living in the diaspora up-to-date on selected news from their respective countries. We have attracted a huge following in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean as well as across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
Several months ago, we launched an aggressive campaign to attract public relations business and advertisements for BAHAMAS CHRONICLE. Obviously I could not allow an opportunity such as this that is so rich with prospects of future clients to pass without making a “pitch” to attract some clients. We have a standard price of $200 for promotional articles and $300 monthly for a business-card size advertisement. Keep in mind that news in BAHAMAS CHRONICLE is updated daily and advertisements appear daily throughout the month.
