MICHAEL PINTARD, Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources
NASSAU, Bahamas — Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources Michael Pintard said government currently has on the table plans to privatize certain parts of the Bahamas Agriculture and Marine Science Institute (BAMSI). The goal is to develop a public-private partnership for the cultivation and distribution of produce.
“In terms of production, it is not my view that BAMSI as a sole government entity ought to be focused on the production. I believe the private sector is better suited. So a public-private partnership is really the only scenario under which BAMSI should be in massive wide-scale production,” he said in an interview with Guardian Business earlier this week. https://thenassauguardian.com/2018/08/17/pintard-public-private-partnership-needed-for-bamsi-success/
