Minister of State for Grand Bahama Kwasi Thompson
FREEPORT, Grand Bahama — A plan to digitize the public service with the creation of a new e-government platform will be unveiled at the upcoming Grand Bahama Technology Summit next month, Minister of State for Grand Bahama Kwasi Thompson revealed yesterday, the Nassau Guardian reported October 31.
Thompson spoke to reporters before the weekly Cabinet meeting about the three-day summit which is scheduled for November 14–16 at the Grand Lucayan resort.
“Another aspect of the summit is the e-government initiative that is being put forward. One of the things we must do is make government work better for people, and we need to do that through the use of technology,” Thompson said. “So, we will be presenting a plan there as well as to how the government is going to move forward with respect to e-government, how we can integrate the services and how we can make the system work better for people.”
Last year was the first time government hosted the technology summit. It’s a part of its plan to make Grand Bahama a technology hub in the region.
Thompson said organizers are capitalizing off of last year’s success and hope to make this year’s summit an even bigger success. https://thenassauguardian.com/2018/10/31/plan-for-e-government-to-be-unveiled-at-gb-tech-summit/
