PLP GOLDEN GATES CANDIDATE PIA-GLOVER ROLLE’S EASTER MESSAGE

By OSWALD T. BROWN

WASHINGTON, D.C., April 3, 2021 — Pia Glover-Rolle, the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) candidate for the Golden Gates constituency in  The Bahamas for the next general election,  posted an Easter message on her Facebook page that I thought I would share with readers of BAHAMAS CHRONICLE. Persons who are regular readers of BAHAMAS CHRONICLE would know that I fully support the candidacy of Mrs. Glover-Rolle.

Not only is she an impressive candidate, but as I noted in a previous article in BAHAMAS CHRONICLE when I commented on a post by Mechelle McDonald featuring four accomplished Bahamian ladies — Arlene Nash Ferguson, Pamela Burnside, Bodine Victoria and Leah Eneas — given “the many gifted and talented women in all walks of life in The Bahamas, why is it that politics in The Bahamas is still very much a male-dominated “profession?” In that article, I noted that there “is clear evidence of this in the list of candidates who have already been ratified for the next general election.”

One of the reasons why I strongly support the candidacy of Mrs. Glover-Rolle is that as a woman, she has “displayed a level of political maturity that is not often exhibited in the toxic political arena” in The Bahamas, as I noted in another article I recently published in BAHAMAS CHRONICLE.
