BRUSSELS, Belgium, November 12, 2019 — Prime Minister the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis is in Brussels for the  official opening of the Embassy of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and Mission to the European Union at Rue Belliard 40, 1040 Brussels.

The Prime Minister is heading a delegation of senior government officials that includes  the Hon. Darren A.  Henfield, Minister of Foreign Affairs; the Hon. Carl W. Bethel, Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs; and the Hon. Elsworth Johnson, Minister of Financial Services, Trade & Industry and Immigration.

While in Brussels, the Prime Minister is also expected to meet with the Secretary-General and Commission of Ambassadors of the African Caribbean and Pacific Group of States, and the European Commission’s Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Hon. K. Peter Turnquest, is Acting Prime Minister during the absence of the Prime Minister, who is scheduled to return to The Bahamas on Friday, November 15.

The Embassy of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and Mission to the European Union in Brussels is headed by Ambassador E. Maria O’Brien.
