WASHINGTON, D.C., Sept. 11, 2023 — Minister of Foreign Affairs Fred Mitchell on Sunday, September 10, posted a collection of photos on Facebook that were taken at a dinner hosted by Bahamas Honorary Consul to Chicago. I decided to share them with readers of my online publication, BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.

Minister Mitchell posted the collage of photos with the following narrative:

“Prime Minister Philip Davis was welcomed to Chicago at a special dinner hosted and organized by Michael Fountain, Honorary Consul for The Bahamas in Chicago. The two-day visit is to mark the 50th anniversary of the independence of The Bahamas.  We were joined by Congresswoman Robyn Kelly of Illinois and other representatives  of the business, political  and cultural community. 10 September 2023.”

EDITOR’S NOTE: As Bahamas Honorary Consul to Chicago, states served by Mr. Fountain include Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North and South Dakota and Wisconsin.
