PNBC PRESENTS MLK AWARD TO CONGRESSWOMAN SHEILA JACKSON LEE

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Rev. Dr. Timothy Stewart (second from right), President of the Progressive National Baptist Convention (PNBC), presents Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee with the MLK Award during the PNBC Mid-Winter Board Meeting in San Antonio, Texas, on January 20.

Congresswoman Jackson Lee, who was the guest speaker at the MLK Holiday Service, represents Texas’s 18th congressional district and is currently serving in her 13th term in the House, having served since 1995. She is a member of the Democratic Party, and her district includes most of central Houston.

Rev. Dr. Stewart is Pastor of the historic Bethel Baptist Church in Nassau, Bahamas, the oldest Baptist church in The Bahamas, and the oldest continuing Baptist church in the Caribbean.
