POLISH AMBASSADOR PAYS COURTESY CALL ON AMBASSADOR JONES

WASHINGTON, D.C., February 8, 2023 — The Bahamas and Poland have been supportive of each other’s initiatives on a variety of issues over the years, and on Wednesday, February 8, His Excellency Marek Magierowski, Polish Ambassador to the United States, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Wendall Jones, Bahamas Ambassador to the U.S, at the Bahamian Embassy in Watergate Complex in Washington D.C.

The two Ambassadors discussed matters of mutual interest and ways to strengthen the relationship between their two countries.

Marek Grzegorz Magierowski,  a Polish journalist, has been Poland’s Ambassador to the United States since 2021 and was previously Poland’s Ambassador to Israel from 2018 to 2021.

For over 20 years he worked as a reporter, editor and columnist, covering mostly international relations. He was deputy head of the economic desk in Gazeta Wyborcza, head of the foreign affairs desk and the business section of the weekly Newsweek Polska, deputy editor-in-chief of Rzeczpospolita (2006–2011).

In October 2015 he started working for the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland as an expert on public diplomacy and, in December 2018, he was appointed as a press officer. From June 2017 to May 2018 he served as Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and In June 2018 he became Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to the State of Israel. He ended his term in Israel in 2021, and on November 23, 2021 he began his service as Poland’s ambassador to the United States.
