PRIME MINISTER CONGRATULATES UNIVERSITY OF BAHAMAS CLASS OF 2023

NASSAU, Bahamas — The Office of the Prime Minister posted a collection of photos on Facebook on Thursday, May 25, congratulating the University of the Bahamas Class of 2023 that we decided to share with readers of BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and, of course, The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean. The photos were posted with the following narrative:

NOTE: The University of The Bahamas held its Teachers’ Commissioning Ceremony at Kendal G.L. Isaacs Gymnasium, on Tuesday, May 23. The theme for Commencement was “Building Resilience Within Ourselves.’

During this ceremonial week in New Providence, UB held its Baccalaureate Service Monday evening, May 22 at Trinity Methodist Church when the speaker was Rev. William Higgs, Pastor.

On Wednesday, May 24, the School of Nursing and Allied Health Professions held its Pinning Ceremony at Kendal G.L. Isaacs Gymnasium when the guest speaker was Dr. Shamel Rolle-Sands.

An Awards Ceremony was also held in the gymnasium, with speakers: UB President Dr. Erik Rolland and Vice-President, Academic Affairs, Dr. Maria Oriakhi.

On Thursday afternoon, May 25, the Commencement Ceremony was held at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium, with Remarks by Dr. Erik Rolland, President & CEO; and Allyson Maynard Gibson, Chair of Board of Trustees.  Guest Speaker was Mr. Lars Minns, Chief Human Resources Officer at Mercedes Benz North America.
