PRIME MINISTER DAVIS PARTICIPATES IN 2022 CONCORDIA AMERICAS SUMMIT IN MIAMI

MIAMI, Florida, July 13, 2022 – Bahamas Prime Minister Philip E. Davis today participated in a session of the 2022 Concordia Americas Summit that addressed “The Importance of Regional Cooperation In Advancing Investment and Economic Development Across the Region.”

The 2022 Concordia Americas Summit, which is being held in Miami July 13-14, is being hosted “in a hybrid format” in partnership with the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS), according to Concordia’s website.

Prime Minister Philip E. Davis introduces Sebastian “Sebas” Bastian, non-resident Bahamas Ambassador to the Central American Integration System, to St. Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves at the 2022 Concordia Americas .Summit being held in Miami.

“Concordia’s longest-standing regional initiative, the sixth Americas Summit will continue its legacy of gathering leaders from across industries, sectors, and geographies to confront the challenges and opportunities facing the Western Hemisphere at large,” the website noted.

Also speaking during the session in which Prime Minister Davis participated were the Hon. Ralph E. Gonsalves, Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Mr. Armand Arton, President of Arton Capital, who is described on the website as “a visionary entrepreneur, philanthropist and a Global Citizen.”

A description of the session posted on the website stated: “For nations to thrive during times of turbulence in the international community enhanced regional cooperation is required. Regional cooperation and increased geographical ties can lead to strong economic development, and create more expansive, durable trade lines. Enhanced regional cooperation doesn’t just result in economic growth; it allows nations to have stronger responses to challenges such as pandemics, climate change, and migration. This session, featuring distinguished leaders, will explore the importance of regional cooperation in bolstering economic growth and crises response.”
