NASSAU, Bahamas –The Office of the Prime Minister posted collection of photos on Facebook on Saturday, May 27, on the reopening of the Nassau Cruise Port, and we decided to share some of them with readers of BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and, of course, The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean. Last Night’s reopening of the Nassau Cruise Port signals a new beginning for Nassau, promising a prosperous and sustainable future for all Bahamians!

The $300 Million expansion includes a new terminal, a Junkanoo museum, an amphitheater, local stores, and food and beverage facilities – and It brings many opportunities for Bahamian ownership and employment.

Not only are there jobs directly related to the operation of the port itself, there are also designated areas for hair braiders, taxis, tour operators, and vendors of all kinds. Over 70 Bahamianbusinesses, including food vendors, Bahamian-made goods and crafts stores, and tour operators will occupy this space.

This port will not only enhance the city’s economy but will also serve as a catalyst for the wider development of downtown Nassau.
