NASSAU, Bahamas — The government has officially released the request for proposals/quotations (RFP/RFQ) for the architectural and engineering consulting services for the new Deadman’s Cay airport on Long Island, according to a statement from the island’s Member of Parliament Adrian Gibson.
The RFP/RFQ released in the newspapers by the Ministry of Tourism and Aviation (MOTA) outline a new airport terminal design, a redeveloped and extended runway and apron design, and a crash fire rescue building (CFR) for the settlement of Deadman’s Cay.
According to the statement, the deadline to respond to the RFP/RFQ is on or before 3:00 p.m. on February 15, 2019.
“Interested companies are required to be registered on the Bahamas government’s procurement portal in order to access the request for proposals document.” Gibson said.
“Alternatively, a copy of the RFP can be obtained from the MOTA’s Department of Aviation. We are progressing towards bringing you a new, international airport,” Gibson said.
Gibson noted recently that the airport is “long overdue”, and its construction and completion will provide an economic boost to the island. https://thenassauguardian.com/2019/01/21/request-for-proposals-quotations-released-for-new-deadmans-cay-airport/?fbclid=IwAR1y8_wOkLC12sa6mRwjmGqaSoTxOW2Xgyp8ArIsiDW8JNziERvSVKA-rL0
