NASSAU, Bahamas, October 8, 2024 — Ricardo Miller, a Bahamian who serves as Texas Red Oak City Councilman, has not forgotten his roots. On a recent visit to the country of his birth, he made a donation of four laptops computers to E.P. Roberts Primary School, where he received his early education, The Nassau Guardian reported on Monday, October 7.

“The school informed me about the need for updated electronics in their library, specifically for student workstations,” Miller said, noting that he was assured the laptops would be used properly for the benefit of students.

Miller added, “With everything going digital, I believe E.P. Roberts, given its location, will frequently need updated equipment to ensure students from that community have the opportunity to work with modern technology. In this digital era, both teachers and students need access to the best tools available to support their learning and teaching.

“E.P. Roberts is my alma mater – it’s the elementary school I attended, and every time I return to The Bahamas during the school year, I make it a point to visit and contribute in some way. While I do visit other schools, E.P. Roberts Primary School holds a special place in my heart and is my top priority.”
