NASSAU, Bahamas – Sandals Royal Bahamian resort, which reopened at the beginning of this year, is expecting “amazing” Christmas occupancies and a “marvelous” new year, the resort’s General Manager Adrian Whitehead told members of the media yesterday, revealing that the resort will be near 100 percent occupancy for the first three months of the upcoming year, The Nassau Guardian reported on Tuesday, December 20, in an article written by Chester Robards.
“It’s not far off from 100 percent. We’ve got the occasional room we can squeeze someone into. But yes, we are solidly booked through to March,” he said.
With an “absolutely awesome” 2022 coming to a close, Whitehead explained that the company is hoping 2023 will be Royal Bahamian’s best year so far, with bookings past March also on an upward trend.
“Obviously we’re keeping our fingers crossed that all comes through,” he said. “We continue to set it blazing here at Sandals Royal Bahamian, just in terms of the number of guests that are coming through on a consistent basis. So, it’s good. Going beyond March as well, those numbers are looking very promising for us at the moment.”
He explained that the resort’s average daily rate has been competitive and continues to hold strong. Whitehead said the resort’s repeat guests, who are the foundation of the Sandals brand, continue to be a stronghold of the resort’s bookings. He added that Royal Bahamian has also become a sort of introductory hotel to the Sandals brand.
“Sandals Royal Bahamian is one of the first hotels that many of our guests try and that’s a great advantage for the group,” Whitehead said. “So it’s a lead-in for us as well. We’re setting the standards here.”
As the resort ramps up for the Christmas season and stares down a solid start to 2023, Whitehead explained that it is looking to hire quality staff. He explained that with occupancies at or near 100 percent, the resort could need as much as 1,037 people.
“We’re actively looking for people regularly. I’m out there looking for quality talent at all times,” he said. See article in The Nassau Guardian at https://thenassauguardian.com/sandals-resort-solidly-booked-through-to-march/?fbclid=IwAR1yGhT4bcF5sJwoZo5legEnk2Kq3zfIODaTp01PT4IL20taPbjdanId6sc
