NASSAU, Bahamas — Anthony Scaramucci, founder of global thought leadership and networking forum SALT, has predicted that The Bahamas will become a “necessary destination” for people who are involved and want to be involved in Web3 and cryptocurrency, The Nassau Guardian reported on Thursday, April 28.
Scaramucci told the media yesterday during the Crypto Bahamas conference at Baha Mar that the move by Sam Bankman-Fried, chief executive officer of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, to headquarter his company in The Bahamas, indicates to the world that this country will be a “big destination” for cryptocurrency, given that global publications have branded Bankman-Fried as “the most influential person in cryptocurrency”.
“And so stop and think about that. He chose this country, The Bahamas, to put his company,” Scaramucci said.
“So you have the most influential person in cryptocurrencies chose this country, so I predict that this country will be the most influential or among the most influential in cryptocurrency.”
Scaramucci, who is a former White House communications director under former US President Donald Trump, said he personally loves The Bahamas and has been visiting this country for the last 25 years. Now that he and Bankman-Fried have partnered on the Crypto Bahamas conference, Scaramucci said he hopes to open an office for his firm SkyBridge Capital at FTX’s headquarters when it is built.
“Now that I’m in partnership with Sam I’m making it more than an annual visit,” he said.
“It is a beautiful country and it is a country of economic progress and economic innovation.
“I predict that in five years The Bahamas is going to be one of the places in the world where people say, ‘okay they led the world in terms of regulatory reform, regulatory processing, it’s going to be a Web3 destination’, so I’m super excited about it.” See complete article in The Nassau Guardian at https://thenassauguardian.com/scaramucci-bahamas-will-become-very-influential-in-cryptocurrency/
