NASSAU, Bahamas — Bahamas Power and Light (BPL) is close to signing a deal with Shell North America for a 270 megawatt, tri-fuel power plant slated to be constructed at the site of the Clifton power plant, Minister of Public Works Desmond Bannister said Friday.
Bannister gave the update while speaking at the Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association’s (BHTA) annual general meeting. He said he had just completed a meeting with Shell before joining the BHTA event.
“They (Shell) are very, very happy to partner with us in this venture,” he said.
When questioned by Guardian Business after the event, Bannister said he could not say more about the Shell meeting. https://thenassauguardian.com/2018/08/07/shell-deal-close-minister-says/
