SILVER AIRWAYS PASSENGERS WELCOMED TO ABACO

Central and South Abaco MP John H.W. Pinder and Dr. Kenneth Romer, Deputy Director General of Tourism and Aviation, welcoming Silver Airways passengers to Abaco.

MARSH HARBOUR, Abaco – Central and South Abaco MP John H.W. Pinder posted a collection of photos on Facebook on Tuesday, May 23, of he and Dr. Kenneth Romer, Deputy Director General of Tourism and Aviation, welcoming Silver Airways passengers to Abaco. We decided to share some of them with readers of BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and, of course, The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean. The photos were posted with the following narrative:

“On Saturday, May 20, 2023, I along with Director of Aviation, Dr. Kenneth Romer welcomed visitors to the beautiful Abacos at Silver Airways’ Inaugural flight from Orlando, Florida.

I’m happy to see that Abaco’s market is back, and partners like Silver Airways acknowledge the opportunities to expand their business. Orlando is an important hub with over fifty million passengers a year from over a hundred destinations.”

EDITOR’S NOTE: On Saturday, May 20, Silver Airways launched direct service from Orlando, Florida. to both North Eleuthera International Airport and Leonard Thompson International Airport in Abaco.

The Orlando-Marsh Harbour flight, with connecting service to North Eleuthera, will be available once a week, exclusively on Saturdays. This new addition complements Silver Airways’ existing flights from Fort Lauderdale and Tampa to The Abacos. Notably, after a break in service due to the pandemic, on  January 7, 2023, the airline resumed its nonstop service from Tampa to The Abaco’s, signalling its commitment to The Bahamas.
