WASHINGTON, D.C., June 10, 2024 — The Office of Bahamas Prime Minister Philip E. Davis today posted a collection of photos on Facebook that were taken at the opening of the South Andros Multi-Purpose Gym. As a proud Androsian, I absolutely had to share them with readers of my Washington, D.C. – based online publication, BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.

In the narrative that accompanied the photos, the South Andros Multi-Purpose Gym was described as “a key milestone in our Administration’s agenda.”

“The Big Yard” — the nickname by which Andros, the largest of the Islands that comprise The Bahamas, is often called – “deserves big investments, and this is just the beginning,” the narrative declared.

It added, “This new facility has already created construction jobs and promises future opportunities in seasonal events, sports tourism, and cultural festivities. More than just an economic boost, it will also be a wellness and community hub. Here’s to getting it done!”
