NEW YORK, June 2, 2019 — The eight co-champions of the 2019 Scripps National Spelling Bee were special guests at the New York Yankees vs Boston Red Sox baseball game on Sunday, June 2, 2019. In a post on Facebook thanking the Yankees “for hosting us,” Scripps National Spelling Bee officials said, “All 8 champs were invited on the field for the pre-game festivities, and they got their brand new jerseys signed by pitcher David Hale.”
