SPELLING BEE SECOND PLACE WINNER PAYS COURTESY CALL ON GOVERNOR GENERAL

NASSAU, Bahamas — Kevin Williams, a fifth-grade student of Yellow Elder Primary School who finished second in the recent 22nd annual Bahamas National Spelling Bee (BNSB) finals, paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency the Most Hon. Dame Marguerite Pindling, Governor General of The Bahamas, at Government House on Wednesday, April 10, 2019.  Roy Seligman, a 10-year-old 4th grade student at  Lyford Cay International School, who finished first in the BNSB championships, will represent The Bahamas in the prestigious 92nd annual Scripps National Spelling Bee, which will be held at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, near Washington, .D.C., from May 27 – 30, 2019.  By virtue of finishing second, one of the prizes won by Kevin Williams was a trip to Washington for the Scripps Bee.
