LOS ANGELES, California — Carmel Churchill, DonCar Hospitality Management Services and Former Director of Marketing Services at Grand Bahama Tourism Board, posted a collection of photos on Facebook on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, and we decided to share some of them with readers of BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and, of course, The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean. The photos were posted with the following narrative:
“Let’s talk about being proud to be a Bahamian! Last night was truly a moment in Bahamian Tourism history. Deputy Prime Minister of The Bahamas, Chester Cooper, Minister of Tourism Investments and Aviation, along with Director General Latia Bowe-Duncombe led a spectacular press event in Los Angeles last evening.
Team Tourism pulled out all the stops, showcasing select Bahamian Food items and Entertainment. For the evening, Chef Pratt created a Grits and Fish dish and Lobster Fritters. Marv Mixologist Cunningham Cocktail creations of Spicy Guava Rosemary Magarita, Goombay Smash and Exuma Mocktail were a pleasure invited Media and Influencers will be talking of in their stories for the foreseeable future. The evening was topped off with A Junkanoo Rush Out.
The Bahamas’ Global Sales Missions are designed to increase awareness of the islands of The Bahamas’ brand in strategic markets and stimulate tourism to the destination. This California mission aligns with BMOTIA’s recent announcement that unveiled upcoming JetBlue non-stop service from Los Angeles to Nassau, scheduled to commence on November 4th.
Grand Bahama Island Tourism Board’s plan to leverage opportunities like this, along with working to influence local carriers Bahamasair and Western Air to expand connectivity within their routes, will ensure the islands tourism growth.” #freeportbahamas #grandbahamaisland
