ATLANTA, Georgia, February 7, 2023 — Spence Finlayson, host of Immediate Response Radio and Television Show on ZNS, who is in Atlanta for a series of live broadcasts, had Bahamian actress and filmmaker Chaun Archer as one of his guests on Monday and today he posted her “amazing story” on Facebook. Here’s that story:
“Ever since I was a little girl, I was a creative, free spirit. After going to college and pursuing a career in banking, I was miserable because my life had no color. I was tired of the mundane life and wanted something more. My passion for writing and acting began to burn a fire within and I could no longer ignore it. But I needed financial options that would allow me to pursue my passions. In 2008 After writing and publishing my first children’s book Wonderful Wigs, I decided to start a publishing company to help authors become published. I figured if I must work, I’d rather do something I love and be able to award myself the flexibility of my time so that I could continue pursuing my passions.
Soon after I began, I got my first acting role in Atlanta, in a play that eventually went on tour and I soon became one of the writers as the play evolved. As business and my budding acting and writing career grew, I decided I wanted to cross over into acting on TV and film. Around that time, I was also editing Television broadcasts and gaining experience in the world of video production, and doing graphics and websites for my non-author clients.
After the publishing industry began to rapidly change with the popularity of ebooks and readers, more authors began looking to self-publish. I went back to school to pursue a degree in Multimedia Design and Development and my publishing company transformed into AVID Multimedia Group, a full-service graphics, web development, and video production company. I went from the model of publishing authors to offering author services that make the self-published author look professional and the books have a publishing house feel. In addition to author services, we added graphic design, web development, and video production to our list of services.”
