TURNQUEST ELECTED DEPUTY CHAIRMAN OF ELEUTHERA PROPERTIES LIMITED

NASSAU, Bahamas — At a meeting of the Board of Directors on April 26,  2019, Mr. O.A.T “Tommy” Turnquest  was elected Deputy Chairman of Eleuthera Properties Limited (“EPL”), the parent company for the Jack’s Bay Club and Community at South Eleuthera.

Mr. Turnquest, a banker by profession, is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers and served in senior positions in a local Commercial Bank prior to being elected to Parliament in 1992.  From 1992 to 2012 he provided distinguished service to The Bahamas in roles which varied at times from Minister responsible for National Security, Tourism, Public Works, and Public Service; and also Leader of the then Official Opposition Party.

Mr. Turnquest joined the Board of EPL in 2015 and currently serves as Policy  Adviser to the Chairman of Sunshine Holdings Limited and Eleuthera Properties Limited. In this role he has contributed substantially to the strategic direction of the corporate group.

In response to congratulatory remarks from Directors of the Group, Mr. TURNQUEST expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and he recommitted to continue working assiduously in helping to ensure that EPL becomes the model of Bahamian investors co-operating with sophisticated investors from around the world — all with a shared vision to trigger sustainable and transformative development, especially in the Family Islands.
